Times Square–42nd Street is your best stop. The 1, 2, 3, 7, N, Q, R, W, and S trains all stop here. From the station, it is an easy six-minute walk north. You can also take the N, R, or W train directly to 49th Street. The 1 train to 50th Street is another quick option.

Penn Station: Roughly 15 minutes

Driving: Don’t. There is no on-site parking. Use a garage nearby and book it ahead. Or take the subway.
Eating before the show. West 46th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues is known as Restaurant Row. Book a table for 5:00 or 5:30 p.m. if you have a 7:00 p.m. curtain.

The Richard Rodgers opened in 1924 as the 46th Street Theatre. It was renamed in 1990 to honor legendary composer Richard Rodgers. Today, Hamilton stands as the longest-running hit in the building’s history. The theater is relatively intimate by Broadway standards. Sightlines are clear across most sections. That matters here.
How to Buy Hamilton Tickets Without Overpaying
Avoid Scalpers: If you see tickets listed for thousands of dollars, you are looking at third-party broker platforms. Authenticity is never guaranteed. Always cross-check seat numbers against the official interactive map.
Ticket Caps: Standard purchases are capped at eight tickets per household. Groups of 10 or more should reach out to Broadway Plus.
Plan Ahead: Booking 4 to 6 weeks out gives you the best selection of standard face-value pricing. Weekend evening shows and holiday weeks sell out months in advance.
Budget Realistically: Prices fluctuate with demand. Prime center orchestra seats run up to $320+ at face value. The rear mezzanine offers much cheaper rates for budget-conscious fans.

Center Orchestra (Rows E through J): This is the sweet spot. You are close enough to catch subtle facial expressions without craning your neck to see the balcony deck.
Front Mezzanine: A fantastic value choice. The mezzanine overhang is well-designed, offering a commanding, unobstructed view of the turntable stage choreography.
Rear Mezzanine: The ultimate budget tier. The view is clear, but be prepared for steep steps and tighter legroom. Center seats here are noticeably better than extreme sides.
Accessible Seating: Wheelchair locations and companion seating are located in the orchestra. Transfer seats with movable armrests are also available. Call the box office directly to confirm specific mobility arrangements.
